The Role:
Family Law CASA is seeking a contract attorney to work approximately 5-10 hours a week on an as-needed basis. The contract attorney represents the volunteer advocate at trial and the CASA program at hearings and pre-trial conferences. We are looking for an attorney with family law experience who is committed to racial equity and is passionate about our mission.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Appear in court (trials, hearings, and pre-trial conferences) in a limited role.
  • Review all documents related to case in preparation for court appearances.
  • Prepare advocates to testify at trial.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Two years prior family law experience
  • Prior knowledge of/experience with Family Law CASA's work preferred
  • A desire to appear in court and work in family law
  • The ability to work with volunteers in a supportive and professional manner
  • Flexibility in availability to appear in court
  • Established high-quality reputation with the court
  • Demonstrated ability to adequately prepare for court and communicate effectively and respectfully with the court

Formal Education
Juris Doctorate and active member of the Washington State Bar Association in good standing.
