Description:
Abrolat Law PC, a plaintiff-side employment litigation firm, is seeking an experienced California employment litigator for contract work on active employment matters.We are looking for an attorney who can step into a case, get up to speed quickly, and handle substantive litigation assignments with limited supervision. Assignments may range from individual depositions, hearings, and discrete projects to more substantial responsibility for particular cases.
Responsibilities:
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare for and handle court hearings and motion appearances
- Handle discovery disputes and other substantive litigation issues
- Participate in mediations and settlement proceedings
- Assist with trial preparation and trial-related proceedings
- Interview and prepare clients and witnesses
- Take responsibility for discrete litigation projects or, where appropriate, particular cases
- Work with the firm on case strategy and other substantive employment litigation matters
Qualifications:
- Active member of the California Bar in good standing
- At least 5 years of California employment litigation experience
- Strong working knowledge of FEHA and related California employment law
- Significant experience taking and defending depositions
- Experience appearing in California courts and arguing motions or other substantive hearings
- Strong knowledge of California civil procedure and discovery
- Ability to analyze a file, exercise sound judgment, and work independently
- Strong oral advocacy, preparation, responsiveness, and reliability
Work may be performed remotely except when an assignment requires an in-person deposition, hearing, mediation, trial, or other proceeding. Attorneys must be available for in-person matters in Los Angeles and surrounding Southern California counties as needed.
