Joerika Stitt Esquire, LLC is seeking experienced Contract Attorneys (1099) to assist with family law, probate, and DCFS appeal matters on a flexible, project-based basis.About the role:
The Contract Attorney will support the firm on an as-needed basis with responsibilities such as:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Preparing for and attending court hearings (status, contested, or administrative)
- Reviewing probate filings, inventories, and accountings
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda
- Assisting with case preparation and strategy
- Assignments are offered individually; you choose which projects to accept based on your schedule.
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice law in Illinois (required)
- Prior experience in family law, probate, or administrative law (DCFS) (required)
- Strong research, drafting, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional communication and client-service mindset
Compensation:
- $75–$90/hour, depending on experience and case type
- Most matters are billed as flat-fee projects with payments tied to case milestones
- Bonuses available for exceptional work and timely completion
- Prompt payment upon completion of each deliverable
Work Environment:
- Fully remote – work from anywhere in Illinois
- Flexible scheduling – accept assignments that fit your workload
- Optional workspace available at our downtown Chicago or Olympia Fields offices for printing or meetings
- Independent contractor (1099) role
Base Pay: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 25 per week
