Job Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Contract Attorney specializing in Civil Litigation and Construction Law to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and possess a comprehensive understanding of various legal disciplines, including general and commercial litigation, and contractual negotiations. You will play a vital role in drafting contracts, preparing for trial, and advocating for clients across diverse legal contexts.
Duties:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of motions and discovery related to construction projects
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation cases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and ensure compliance with procedural laws
- Prepare legal motions, pleadings, briefs, and other documentation with precision and clarity
Experience:
- Proven experience in general & commercial litigation with a strong background in civil litigation cases
- Demonstrated expertise in motion and discovery drafting
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw to conduct statutory research and case law analysis
- Prior law office experience with motion preparation, discovery, court procedures, etc.
- Knowledge of procedural laws governing civil cases at state or federal levels is required
- Experience working on construction law projects or related contractual negotiations is highly desirable
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents that are clear, persuasive, and compliant with court standards
