Overview:Nelson Mullins is looking to add an experienced Construction Associate to join its Construction Law & Litigation group. Ideally located in the Atlanta office, but also open to Greenville, SC, and Charlotte, NC office locations. As an AmLaw100 firm, this will offer a unique opportunity to a lateral associate who wants to be part of a dynamic team and a growing office.
A day in the life:
Firm attorneys in Atlanta have worked on many business and legal developments in the Southeast and beyond, including national class action court cases, formation of public companies, financial institution capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and work on important pro bono cases.
The Firm moved to its current location at 201 17th Street NW in 2007 as the first tenant in a new building located at Atlantic Station, a brownfield reclamation and mixed-used development that houses everyday amenities including alternative transportation options within walking distance. The office meets the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.

We Know You:
With 3 to 5 years of meaningful construction law experience, you have a demonstrated ability to take complex cases from start to finish through all forms of dispute resolution. With valuable court hearing experience, preferably dispositive motion practice, you are able to analyze complex fact patterns to applicable case and statutory law, to develop a case for litigation and trial. Demonstrated experience in depositions, preferably involving the taking and defending of key fact witnesses and expert witnesses, and in various modes of dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Basic knowledge of standard construction industry forms, such as AIA. Contract Drafting experience is a plus. You have respectable academic credentials, but more importantly, a common sense, practical approach to construction law with a willingness to learn. Applicants must be admitted to (or willing to be admitted to) and in Good Standing with the Georgia and/or North Carolina Bar.
