Summary:
A Global Law Firm seeks an associate with 3-4 years of construction transactional law experience to join its Real Estate Group. The candidate should have experience drafting and negotiating industry-standard and bespoke construction, design, consulting and related contracts for commercial, energy, and large infrastructure projects. The candidate must have the skill set to work independently with partner oversight on initial contract drafts. Ideal candidates will also have experience drafting and negotiating EPC contracts in the energy sector. Experience in handling construction litigation matters is also preferred. We seek candidates with immediately transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized law schools as well as prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate design, construction, and development agreements across various industry sectors.
  • Draft and negotiate EPC contracts on large infrastructure and energy projects.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients regarding claims management, change orders, extra work claims, delay, and construction defect claim.
  • Work with construction teams on litigation and arbitration matters, providing support in all aspects of this dispute, including drafting of pleadings, discovery, motions, preparation and taking of depositions, mediations, and arbitration hearings / trials.

Education:
  • JD
  • Bar Admission
  • Admitted to practice in the state in which you are applying

Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant law experience.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm or SEC experience.
