Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney licensed in Florida to handle complex commercial closings and provide legal coverage for related matters. The position offers flexibility to work remotely, though the attorney should expect to spend time in our Tallahassee office as part of their practice. We are especially interested in candidates who can bring an existing (even moderate) book of business and are eager to help build and grow our commercial platform.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and close commercial real estate transactions, including drafting and reviewing contracts, loan documents, and closing statements.
- Provide legal counsel on title issues, due diligence, and risk management.
- Collaborate with underwriters, lenders, developers, and internal staff to ensure smooth and timely closings.
- Assist with business development efforts and leverage personal/professional networks to expand our commercial client base.
- Support compliance with Florida real estate and title regulations.
- Potential to supervise support staff and/or closing assistants.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Florida Bar (Georgia Bar admission a plus).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions.
- Strong knowledge of title law, contracts, and closing practices.
- Existing book of business preferred (does not need to be extensive).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and client-relations skills.
