SettlePou is seeking a motivated associate attorney to join its Commercial Litigation and Foreclosure practice. The ideal candidate will have experience representing financial institutions, loan servicers, and investors in the default services matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a docket of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Represent lenders, loan servicers, and investors in judicial and non-judicial foreclosure proceedings.
  • Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery requests and responses, appellate briefs, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex commercial and real estate issues.
  • Handle depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials, as appropriate.
  • Advise clients regarding loan enforcement, foreclosure strategy, creditors' rights, title disputes, receiverships, and related real estate matters.
  • Communicate directly with clients to provide strategic legal advice and case updates.
  • Work collaboratively with partners and other attorneys while managing matters independently.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas.
  • 3+ years of commercial litigation experience, with foreclosure, creditors' rights, or real estate litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience drafting substantive motions is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and client communication skills.
