Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join our nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 4-6 years of complex litigation experience, strong academic credentials, and experience in high-level insurance coverage litigation, dispute analysis, and coverage assessments. Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients, and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal
- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
- Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
- Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
- Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel
- Analyzing insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and related analyses
Pursuant to New Jersey law, the salary range for this position will be $275,000 to $300,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Technical skills:
- 4-6 years of complex and sophisticated litigation experience is required
- Strong writing and case management skills, level-appropriate direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills are required
- Deposition and court experience is preferred
- Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with insurance coverage litigation is preferred; candidates with complex litigation backgrounds and a genuine interest in high-level coverage work are encouraged to apply
Other Requirements:
- Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and be in good standing
- Submission of a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and at least one writing sample
