Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join our nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 4-6 years of complex litigation experience, strong academic credentials, proven analytical ability, and experience handling high-level legal matters. Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients, and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Working on all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal
Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
Drafting complex case analyses and preparing briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel

Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $280,000 to $345,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Technical skills:

4-6 years of complex and sophisticated litigation experience is required
Strong writing and case management skills, level-appropriate direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills are required
Deposition and court experience is preferred
Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred
Experience or interest in first party insurance bad faith (defending enterprise insurers and financial institutions) and financial services/securities litigation (defending financial institutions, securities broker-dealers, insurance and annuity companies) is ideal, but not required

Other Requirements:

Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing
Submission of a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and at least one writing sample
