Foley & Lardner is seeking an associate with 6+ years of experience to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in our San Diego office. Qualified candidate must be a persuasive legal writer and oral advocate and will have substantial experience handling complex business litigation matters in state and federal courts, including developing and executing case strategy, managing all phases of written and document discovery, researching and drafting sophisticated pleadings, dispositive motions, and other court filings, conducting and defending depositions, preparing witnesses for testimony, appearing for status conferences and hearings, and arguing motions in both state and federal court. Candidates should have experience independently managing significant aspects of litigation matters, coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other case team members, and providing strategic guidance throughout the litigation process. Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations and significant trial preparation experience are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, an exceptional work ethic, and must be comfortable having direct and regular interaction with partners and clients while taking ownership of key litigation responsibilities.We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to thrive in a sophisticated practice in a busy, collaborative environment, to assist with advancing the long-term strategic objectives of our Litigation Department.
