What the role entails:A NYC-Based, Mid-Sized, Full-Service Entrepreneurial Law Firm seeks an associate to join our Litigation Practice Group and service high-end, global clientele. The ideal candidate has 3-12 years of experience managing all phases of complex commercial litigation cases, be highly motivated and detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic. Excellent writing, research, analytical and communication skills are a must. Candidates must be highly responsive, as well as committed to providing exceptional client service and top-quality work product.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Draft complete sets of motion papers, pleadings, memoranda of law, and appellate briefs in state and federal courts as well as in alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Research effectively and efficiently, must have knowledge of Westlaw.
- Draft discovery demands and responses, and be well versed in e-discovery.
- Conduct depositions – first chair deposition experience preferred.
- Effective and responsive communication with an international clientele.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency in New York State and Federal civil procedure.
- Experience with various phases of litigation and arbitration, including preparation of injunction papers.
- Works well under pressure, required to handle multiple cases and/or matters.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Demonstrate excellence in research, writing, and legal analysis.
- Excellent academic background and interpersonal skills.
- Must be admitted to New York State and Federal Courts.
- All applicants applying for U.S. openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
