Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a junior associate to join our nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 2–3 years of complex commercial litigation experience, along with strong academic credentials. The ideal candidate will have experience with or exposure to false advertising and consumer class action litigation.
Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients, and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working on all phases of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal
- Drafting case evaluations, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation-related documents
- Conducting, propounding, and responding to discovery, including document requests, written discovery, and depositions
- Working directly with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel
- Taking and defending depositions, and working closely with fact witnesses and experts
- Attending hearings and assisting with all phases of litigation proceedings
- Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position will be $235,000 to $260,000 based on experience and location. Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Technical skills:
- 2–3 years of complex commercial litigation experience is required
- Experience with or exposure to false advertising and consumer class action litigation is preferred
- Strong writing, case management, and oral advocacy skills, along with level-appropriate experience handling clients and opposing counsel, are required
- Deposition and court experience is preferred
- Previous law firm experience is strongly preferred
- Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus
Other Requirements:
- Must be licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the State of California
- Submission of a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, and a current writing sample
