Position Summary:Spencer Fane has an immediate opening for an Insurance Coverage Attorney with a minimum of five years of experience preferred. We will consider candidates for any of our offices. The candidate should have experience handling insurance coverage disputes in the commercial insurance sector. The ideal candidate will have experience representing clients in insurance coverage matters involving multiple types of insurance coverage, including commercial general liability, pollution liability, marine, directors and officers, professional liability, and errors and omissions. The experience should include reviewing commercial insurance policies, drafting coverage evaluations and reservation of rights letters, and extensive communication with clients regarding coverage issues and coverage positions.
The ideal candidate will also have experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation including, but not limited to, experience conducting factual investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings, taking depositions, participating in mediation, and extensive communication with clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze commercial insurance policies and insurance claim files.
- Draft insurance coverage evaluations and coverage position letters.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support coverage evaluations and litigation matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with attention to detail.
- Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Manage and prioritize a diverse caseload.
- Work closely with partners on complex litigation matters.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, judges, mediators, arbitrators, and other parties involved in the litigation process.
- Participate in strategy discussions and case planning.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Admission to the state bar corresponding to the office where the candidate is applying and in good standing
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Compensation: $170,000 - $220,000 commensurate with experience and location, plus the potential to earn significant quarterly bonuses based on productivity.
