Description:
Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an associate with four to six years of experience to join the Commercial Litigation Practice Group in our Costa Mesa office. This associate will have the opportunity to work in all phases of commercial litigation and arbitration matters, from pleading through trial and appeal. This position would involve significant responsibility over pending cases, in-court experience and active trial and motion work. Specifically, this associate will handle the following types of tasks for complex litigation matters:- Discovery
- Oral advocacy
- Brief writing
- Motion practice
- Depositions
- Research
- Trial preparation
The following qualifications are required:
- A JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school;
- Four to six years of complex commercial litigation experience;
- California bar admission or the ability to become admitted in California;
- Excellent research and writing skills; and
- Strong academic performance
The ability to speak Spanish or Arabic is not required but would be a plus.
For California applicants only, the salary range for this position is $255,000 - $295,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. The individual hired for this position may have the option of electing a lower billable-hours track with a proportional reduction in salary. Associates are eligible to participate in Dorsey's associate bonus program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
