About the role:
A Packaging Company is looking for an experienced Commercial Counsel to support our growing industrial technology-focused business. This position will help negotiate a range of commercial transactions involving hardware, software, consumable products and service. This position will also protect our intellectual property portfolio and comply with legal requirements related to data security, privacy and protection. You will report to the General Counsel and be a key member of a small in-house legal team.

What You'll Do:
  • Ability to collaborate with and support senior management on complex issues related to product development, manufacturing, sales and service.
  • Draft, review and negotiate business critical commercial agreements including: supply agreements across our range of customers (traditional, partner/integrator and enterprise); partnership and reseller agreements; procurement contracts; hardware and software service level agreements; SaaS agreements, as well as other agreements with technology providers.
  • Work with our IP team to provide legal advice with respect to the development, protection and licensing of Packsize trademarks, copyrights and patents.
  • Provide legal advice regarding information security, data privacy and data protection issues; negotiate DPAs; help develop and support compliance program workstreams related to data privacy and protection and information security
  • Support and advise on other general commercial and corporate matters, including M&A, competition, commercial litigation, and special projects from time to time.
  • Conduct training session for internal teams on legal and compliance matters.
  • Develop relationships with and manage external counsel.
  • Maintain awareness of legal developments affecting the company and its business.

What You'll Bring
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school in the US
  • Admission to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction
  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant commercial transactions experience at major law firm or in-house at technology focused company
  • Significant experience with intellectual property, data protection and cybersecurity
  • English fluency with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong and pragmatic business acumen with the ability to recognize the business consequences of legal advice
  • Ability to interact comfortably with executives and senior management
