About the Position:Alaska Climate Justice Program is dedicated to working with Alaska Native Tribes to develop advocacy strategies, including litigation, to inform public policy at the local, national and international level. Full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska. Telework options available.
Qualifications:
- J.D., preference for Alaska Bar license.
- Demonstrated commitment to human rights and climate justice.
- Minimum two years public policy, litigation or legal work experience
- Preferred previous work experience with Alaska Native communities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with Alaska Native Tribes on public policy and advocacy issues to support Alaska Native communities to respond to the climate crisis;
- Work with federal and state government agencies to advance climate justice and access to funding and technical assistance;
- Draft legislative analysis, position statements, white papers, reports, articles, fact sheets and issue briefs.
