Description:
Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll is one of the largest plaintiff-side litigation firms in the country, with more than 100 attorneys working in a variety of practices across eight offices in the United States. We champion the causes of workers, consumers, small business owners, investors, and whistleblowers - working to deliver corporate reforms and fair markets for the common good. Our firm has earned an international reputation by litigating complex, high-stakes cases, many of which have resulted in landmark decisions on previously novel issues involving antitrust, securities, consumer rights, civil rights, employee benefits, human rights, and other far-reaching matters.

Cohen Milstein's Washington, DC office has an opening for an associate in the Civil Rights and Employment practice group, which represents workers and other individuals in litigation challenging civil rights and workplace law violations.

We are looking for a candidate with one to three years of litigation experience, strong writing and analytical skills, and preferably some familiarity with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, or other civil rights laws. This position requires a demonstrated commitment to civil rights work, a team-player attitude, and the ability to travel.

Candidates must be an active member of the DC Bar or be willing to apply for membership within 90 days of employment at the firm.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package and the opportunity to work with an exceptional team of lawyers with a tireless determination to serve our clients' interests and pursue justice in the public and private sectors in a manner that provides meaningful relief.

The expected annual salary range (excluding bonus) for this position is between $154,000-$168,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors. You will be eligible to receive a year-end bonus, the issuance and amount of which are discretionary and dependent upon the Firm's profitability.

To be considered for this opportunity, please submit a cover letter, resume, transcript, and writing sample. Application materials should be submitted in the order outlined above, and as a single PDF document.
