About the role:
The Law Offices of Stacey L Tokunaga is searching for a full-time California Associate Attorney to join a busy civil litigation defense practice. This position is well suited for a self-starter looking to expand their existing litigation experience by working alongside lead attorneys on all phases of litigation, including specifically general liability matters. 2-5 years of insurance defense experience is required.

Key Responsibilities:

Propound and respond to written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production and requests for admission
Take and defend depositions
Draft pleadings, motions and briefs in support of the defense of civil litigation matters
Prepare for and attend hearings
Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
Manage an active caseload in a fast-paced, busy practice

Required Qualifications:

Active license to practice law in California
Insurance defense legal experience is required
2-5 years of civil litigation experience
Demonstrated experience with written discovery
Experience taking and defending depositions is a plus
Strong writing and analytical skills
Ability to manage a demanding caseload
Self-starter who takes initiative and is comfortable owning case tasks with limited oversight
Strong written and verbal communication skills
