Hammond Law Firm is seeking a high-performing Civil Litigation Attorney who wants real responsibility, meaningful case ownership, and a clear path to growth.This is not a document-review position. You will be expected to own your cases from day one— develop strategy, communicate directly with clients, take depositions, argue hearings, and move matters efficiently toward resolution or trial.
We are a growing firm focused on real estate, business, and construction-related disputes, and we are looking for someone who is confident, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Actually Do
- Manage a full litigation docketwith minimal supervision
- Draft and file pleadings, dispositive motions, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Conduct hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Develop case strategy and evaluate risk early
- Handle client communication directly
- Negotiate settlements and drive cases toward resolution
- Work with paralegals and staff to maintain efficiency and deadlines
- Track billable time and contribute to firm performance goals
What We're Looking For:
- Licensed in Texas and in good standing
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience (more preferred)
- Proven ability to manage cases independently
- Strong writing and courtroom skills
- Comfortable making judgment calls and moving cases forward
- Organized and deadline-driven (you will have a real docket)
- Experience in real estate, construction, or business disputes is a major plus
- You take ownership of your cases without needing constant oversight
- You move cases forwardno stagnation
- Clients trust you and feel informed
- You hit (or work toward hitting) strong billable performance targets
- You contribute to a team environment but can operate independently
