Description:

Our business & employment law firm (90% Plaintiff) has quite a unique mix of clients that provide interesting cases in both state and federal courts. We pay you a salary as well as various bonuses, allowing you to increase your pay. The three main attributes we seek are: a strong work ethic, a sense of organization, and a personality that is enjoyable to work with.

We offer a collegial working environment and have a stellar success rate; we want someone who wants to be great at what they do. We enjoy the intellectual aspect of law, and that is how we prevail. You have the benefit of working on cases that in other firms you would wait years to work on.

We seek someone who is genuine, easy to work with, and a good team player. You should be able to take ownership of your projects and meet deadlines in advance. We are not looking for copy-and-paste type persons; our pleadings are custom-made to the individual cases. The ideal candidate should have superb research and writing skills.

We seek someone well-spoken, professional, and polished. We are seeking someone who can work well without supervision. You should be motivated (we don't micromanage), a self-starter, and someone who can handle a fast-paced environment. We are happy to mentor and will take you to the next level, but you need to bring your ambition to the table.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years' experience in law and motion, be able to propound and respond to discovery, as well as write briefs of various types. You will be expected to argue motions in court, and attend various hearings and depositions.

The responsibilities include:
  • Drafting demand letters and complaints
  • Propounding and responding to written discovery
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Preparing and defending motions, as well as arguing them
  • Preparing the documents for, and attending arbitrations and mediations
  • Preparing cases for trial and importantly,
  • Providing our clients with outstanding customer service and communication, and
  • Providing whatever else the firm or our clients may require to keep the engine running smoothly.

Our firm realizes that if not for our clients, we have no purpose. As a result, our goal is the best customer service in the country. You should share that philosophy. We are sensitive to a work-life balance, but we are seeking an attorney who is a hard worker and can multitask. After 4 years with our firm, you receive 5 weeks off with pay.

Please submit a confidential cover letter telling us about yourself including your rate of pay and benefits required. Submit 3 writing samples (ie something you wrote yourself) including a complaint and arb/med/trial brief or something similar, as well as an explanation of your career goals.
