Description:
We are seeking to add a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to our team who is capable of handling cases from open to close.Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet with and advise clients of the firm, providing expertise on various matters, including, but not limited to:
- Managing multiple cases from intake to conclusion
- Managing litigation matters for clients from open to close, including:
- Drafting pleadings and other legal documents (e.g., motions and discovery requests)
- Preparing witnesses for court appearances
- Communicating with clients throughout the litigation process
- Interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and interviewing experts
- Drafting legal briefs and motions to be submitted to the court
- Managing timely submission of responses, filings, etc.
- Taking and defending depositions
- Conducting legal research
- Working independently and as part of a team, collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals and staff.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice and in good standing with the Florida Bar
- 3-5 years of civil litigation experience
- Exceptional writing and research skills
Ideal Candidate Qualities:
- 5+ years of civil defense-side litigation experience
- First-chair trial experience (jury and bench trial)
- Motivated, proactive, respectful, ambitious
- Resident of Florida
- Robust portable book of business (preferred but not required)
