The Opportunity:This role involves taking ownership of civil disputes from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing a litigation caseload, developing strategic solutions for clients, and collaborating effectively with our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a civil litigation caseload focusing on commercial, real estate, and construction disputes from pre-suit through resolution.
- Appear in Texas state and federal courts for hearings, oral arguments, and trials.
- Conduct discovery; take and defend depositions.
- Develop case strategies, provide practical legal advice to clients, and represent client interests in mediations and settlement negotiations.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other critical litigation documents.
- Collaborate with support staff and fellow attorneys to maintain accurate timekeeping and case management records.
Qualifications:
- Credentials: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and an active, good-standing license with the State Bar of Texas.
- Experience: Core proficiency in civil litigation, with practical experience in discovery, motion practice, depositions, and courtroom proceedings.
- Jurisdiction: Experience handling matters in Texas state and/or federal courts.
- Practice Areas: Familiarity with business, real estate, or construction litigation is preferred.
- Professional Skills: Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
