Description:

Melick & Porter, a prominent insurance defense litigation firm, seeks a knowledgeable Civil Litigation Attorney. The Associate will work alongside a team of collegial litigators led by nationally acclaimed partners. Candidates will gain hands-on experience defending a wide range of complex litigation disputes. We are looking for someone with a Massachusetts license who has 3 to 5 years of litigation experience. Prior courtroom experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, discovery motions, and settlement agreements.
Attend and conduct depositions, actively participating in case development.
Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while maintaining strong communication with all parties involved.
Prepare for and attend court appearances by organizing case files and gathering necessary evidence.
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and provide support during trials.
Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to tort law.
Maintain accurate records of case progress and client communications.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Active license to practice law in Massachusetts. Dual license to practice in New Hampshire or Maine preferred.
3-5 years of litigation experience.
Outstanding writing and oral communication skills.
Capable of adapting to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work independently while contributing to team efforts.
A passion for excellence in the practice of law.

Please note: the actual salary offered may be above or below the identified range and will be based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, experience, and the location where the position is filled.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
