Description:
The Philadelphia office of Kaufman Dolowich, a full-service National Law firm with more than 250 attorneys across 16 offices and over 25 practice areas, is actively seeking an attorney to join our growing civil defense litigation team.This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced litigators on sophisticated professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and commercial litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will have between 4 to 5 years of experience. This position provides an opportunity to practice at a firm with a national reach and handle interesting cases from pre-suit through appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, breach of contracts, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research, assist with litigation strategy, and case analysis
- Manage discovery, prepare for, and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
- Communicate directly with clients, insurers, opposing counsel, and witnesses while providing regular case updates and strategic guidance
- Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters
- Assist with and/or handle insurance coverage matters as opportunities arise
- Provide proactive case management and client reporting
Qualifications:
- Admission to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey required, admission to Federal Courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey preferred
- 4 to 5 years of professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and/or commercial litigation experience
- Strong writing, research, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment
- Strong organizational, case management, and interpersonal skills

- Professional liability, general liability, directors' and officers' liability, and/or commercial litigation
- Insurance coverage litigation
- Experience handling depositions, motion practice, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
- Experience managing matters independently
