Position Overview:
The Civil Litigation Associate Attorney will handle general civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. This position is structured as an associate-level role with a defined scope of responsibility, appropriate supervision, and opportunities for increasing autonomy based on performance and experience. Some remote work may be acceptable, depending on practice needs and case responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and conferences
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Participate in discovery and depositions
- Advise clients regarding litigation strategy and legal matters
- Assist with settlement negotiations and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across offices
- Stay current on changes in laws and judicial decisions affecting litigation
Qualifications:
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- 2+ years of relevant civil litigation experience
- Experience with motion practice, discovery, and depositions
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage matters independently with appropriate supervision
- Professional, team-oriented approach to client service
