Cooley LLP has an associate opportunity available in the CFIUS, Trade Controls & Government Contracts practice of its Washington, DC office. Attorneys with two to six years of experience are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidates will have: (i) a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school, (ii) experience or interest in work with the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (“CFIUS”) and the Outbound Investment Security Program (“OISP”); (iii) experience or willingness to develop expertise in the related subjects of government contracts, export control, and internal investigations; and (iv) experience or interest in developing expertise in transactional support (i.e., M&A and structured investments). In addition to CFIUS experience, specific experience with the following government entities is especially of interest: (i) the Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (“BIS”); (ii) the Department of State's Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (“DDTC”); (iii) the Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”); and (iv) the Department of Defense's Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (“DCSA”). EOE.The expected annual pay range for this position is $235,000-$390,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
