Overview:
Weaver Currie, PC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Law Clerk to join our litigation team. This role provides the chance to collaborate closely with seasoned trial attorneys across a diverse array of civil litigation areas, including trusts and estates, employment law, business disputes, and personal injury, landlord-tenant, and similar matters.

As a Law Clerk, you will develop hands-on experience in the courtroom, participate in managing cases from inception through resolution, communicate directly with clients and witnesses, and build practical skills essential for a successful legal career.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using platforms such Westlaw to support ongoing cases across multiple practice areas.
  • Assist with drafting legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Review and organize case files utilizing document management systems like Clio Manage to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support project management efforts by tracking deadlines, managing case schedules, and coordinating with team members to meet firm objectives.
  • Perform detailed document review for litigation, transactional work, or compliance purposes while ensuring adherence to procedural standards.
  • Conduct interviews with clients or witnesses as directed by attorneys to gather pertinent case information.
  • Maintain meticulous records of research findings, case notes, and administrative documentation in compliance with firm policies.

Skills:
  • Proven experience in legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw platforms.
  • Strong understanding of multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and UCC law.
  • Excellent legal drafting skills with attention to detail in contracts, pleadings, and correspondence.
  • Proficiency in legal case management software; familiarity with document review tools is a plus.
  • Effective project management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills for managing large volumes of documents and case files.
  • Strong communication skills for interviewing clients or witnesses and collaborating within a team environment.
  • Experience supporting attorneys with administrative functions including data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and phone etiquette. Pay
