A Full-Service Law Firm is seeking an experienced Business Immigration and Compliance Senior Associate or Counsel to be based in CT (our team works in-office in New Haven; this position may be based out of our Stamford or Hartford office with the ability to travel to New Haven as needed). Qualified candidates will have substantial broad-spectrum employment-based immigration experience independently assessing eligibility of employees for U.S visa status, issue-spotting and analyzing regulations for visa viability, and developing comprehensive customized nonimmigrant (H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-1/E-2, etc.) and immigrant (EB-1, EB-2, EB-3) visa petitions for multiple clients; be an excellent writer who can prepare complex and comprehensive RFE responses, PERM cases, and extraordinary ability petitions for sophisticated clients in a wide array of industries; manage daily client interaction and time-sensitive caseloads while working within a team; prioritize short- and long-term assignments along with daily/weekly/monthly duties and proactively communicate case progress and status to clients and supervisor; assist with due diligence I-9/E-Verify/visa compliance review in connection with corporate M&A transactions and government inspections; be passionate about business immigration law and compliance across intersecting regulatory areas; and employ strong analytical and impeccable organizational skills while paying attention to details, demonstrating immigration subject-matter acumen, and multi-tasking. Prior experience with immigration/work authorization compliance and due diligence review, customized and comprehensive immigration case analysis for clients, client counseling, working with an immigration case management system, and tracking billable hours is preferred. A J.D. degree is required with admission to any U.S. state bar (CT preferred).
