Honigman's Business Immigration practice group is comprised of a team of attorneys with diverse and deep experience across the full spectrum of business immigration matters. This associate will support all aspects of our Business Immigration practice, including the preparation and filing of complex immigration nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions for sophisticated national and multinational clients across a wide range of industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently prepare, file, and manage complex nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions—including H-1B, L-1 (Blanket and Individual), TN, O-1, EB-1A/EB-1B/EB-1C, NIW, and PERM-based I-140 petitions.
- Support the PERM labor certification process end-to-end.
- Proactively research and analyze agency guidance, case law, regulations, and statutes to inform case strategy and respond to policy changes.
- Interact with clients, government agencies, and co-counsel, providing clear, timely, and professional communications.
- Deliver high-quality, detail-oriented work product on tight deadlines with minimal supervision, applying strong judgment and problem-solving skills and effectively communicating with all levels of the Firm.
- Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills.
- Maintain a highly organized, responsive workflow while managing a dynamic caseload and tracking critical dates to ensure compliance.
- Continuously build subject-matter expertise and incorporate feedback to improve efficiency, accuracy, and client service.
- Take responsibility for enhancing expertise, in addition to seeking out formal and informal training.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to share knowledge and drive best practices while independently advancing assignments to completion.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of business immigration experience spanning the full spectrum of matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant categories (e.g., H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, EB-1A/EB-1B/EB-1C, NIW) and PERM-based processes.
- Demonstrated end-to-end case ownership, including independent preparation, filing, and management of petitions.
- Proven ability to manage a varied, high-volume caseload across multiple workstreams simultaneously, meeting deadlines under significant time constraints.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills, with strong client-facing experience.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed Illinois attorney in good standing, or eligible to waive into Illinois.
- Ability to travel as client needs require

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $235,000-$310,000 annually.
