Summary:
The Business Attorney will support and partner with General Counsel in providing counsel and guidance on legal matters to mitigate risk and ensure fair and proper business practices. They will conduct reviews and analysis to maximize business performance and protection of Company assets.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with GUS team to draft, negotiate, and/or review contracts for vendors and customers; track contracts for any amendments
  • Support business operations by providing advice and counsel on all business matters
  • Advise and strategize with GUS teams on potential opportunities
  • Analyze risk and recommend mitigation plans on business operations
  • Ensure proper coverage of insurance to protect Company assets
  • Handle corporate governance issues as requested and assist with insurance procurement
  • Assist in overseeing employment and other litigation
  • Assist with drafting company policies
  • Special projects as assigned

Compensation Range:
$76,000-$89,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of the law required
  • Possess a strong code of ethics required
  • Excellent research and analytical skills to gather and examine data in support of the Company required
  • Knowledge of attorney-client relationships applicable to the performance of major duties and responsibilities of the position
    • Includes commitment to all aspects of professional responsibility, including duties of candor and client confidentiality
  • Stellar verbal, legal written, and proofreading skills required
  • Problem identification, analysis, and evaluation required
  • Solid interpersonal and organizational skills preferred

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
    • Master's Degree Preferred
  • 5 - 8 Years of Direct Experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal experience
    • 6 - 9 Years of Direct Experience Preferred
  • Legal contract management experience preferred
  • License to practice law in California Required
  • 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
