Description:
Chicago Immigration Attorneys is a full-service U.S. immigration law ?rm, handling both employment based and family-based matters, removal defense and asylum, naturalization, worksite compliance everything in between. We currently have 10 attorneys dedicated exclusively to U.S. immigration law and are seeking to hire a Bilingual (Spanish) Immigration Associate Attorney to assist with family-based and removal cases. Position has the option to work remotely a few days a week, but does require working out of our downtown Chicago office on certain days each week.Your specific duties will include:
- Represent clients in various immigration-related matters, including removal, family-based applications, and humanitarian-based (asylum, VAWA, SIJ) applications, etc.;
- Communicate with clients;
- Collect, synthesize, and prepare documentation for various immigration filings;
- Maintain and update client's database;
- Work in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines;
- Manage large caseload;
- Oversee work of legal assistants and other support staff.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Must have 1-3 years of experience in family-based immigration AND removal defense;
- Must have a Juris Doctor;
- Must be licensed to practice law in the United States;
- Must speak and write fluently in Spanish. Applicants that do not speak Spanish will not be considered;
- Prior experience supervising the work of paralegal/legal assistant support staff strongly preferred;
- Must be local to the Chicago, IL area and be willing to work in the office at least 2 days per week, as well as necessary to attend in-person hearings and interviews locally.
