Description:

Bankruptcy Attorney will provide oversight and management on high volume statewide bankruptcy matters. Provide review and oversight to ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite files as well as oversee department paralegals. Attorney will supervise and be responsible for bankruptcy file management and will act as a liaison between clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other bankruptcy personnel. All files will be managed in accordance with applicable bankruptcy rules (Federal and local) and firm-established rules, goals & objectives. Work within the firm's case management system to create and review daily and weekly reports for exceptions and discrepancies. Monitor and review various pleadings and orders as well as ensure that client and firm management systems are accurately updated and maintained.

The Bankruptcy Attorney will report directly to the Firm's Managing Bankruptcy Attorney and accept other duties as assigned from management.

Experience in Residential Foreclosure, Creditor Rights, Bankruptcy, and 3 years in good standing in the State

The Attorney must be licensed to practice law in the state they are hired and is responsible for overseeing all legal aspects for cases.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage high volume statewide bankruptcy matters for client cases
  • Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, codes and the like
  • Communicate with clients, internal staff and others to ensure case is handled appropriately
  • Input and maintain information into case management system and ensure data integrity
  • Attend hearings, settlement conferences and other appearances as necessary
  • Establish a strong follow-up system to ensure deadlines are not missed for which various pleadings must be served and filed.
  • Prioritize and work at a fast pace on a high volume of files, with a great attention to detail
  • Travel to court and clients, as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned.
