You will guide individuals, small business owners, and clients with high-valued estates through the process of filing Chapter 7 bankruptcies. The ideal candidate will enjoy helping clients achieve a fresh financial start by providing strategic relief options and guiding them through the federal court system.Key Responsibilities:
- Review client financial records, assets, debts, and income to determine bankruptcy eligibility (means testing).
- Prepare and file complete federal bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and statements.
- Represent clients at 341 Meetings of Creditors and adversary proceedings.
- Defend clients against motions for relief from stay and object to improper creditor claims.
- Provide consultative guidance on asset protection, exemptions, and strategic liquidation.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license and in good standing with the State Bar.
- Admission to the local U.S. District Court (Federal Bar) or immediate eligibility to apply.
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing Chapter 7 consumer and small business cases.
- 5+ years of experience handling Chapter 7 cases involving high-valued estates.
- High proficiency with bankruptcy filing software (e.g., Best Case).
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong mathematical/analytical skills.
