Job Purpose:
As a Personal Injury Pre-Litigation/Litigation Attorney, you'll manage cases from intake through settlement or trial, ensuring effective advocacy, representation, and resolution. This includes investigating claims, developing strategies, negotiating settlements, drafting and arguing motions, conducting discoveries and depositions, and representing clients in court, while maintaining compliance and leveraging a case management system.

Job Responsibilities:
More specifically, you'll:
  • Manage cases from intake to resolution, including client engagement, contracts, pleadings, discovery, motions, agreements, and documentation.
  • Evaluate and investigate claims by reviewing evidence, analyzing liability and damages, and developing strategies aligned with client goals.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders (adjusters, providers, experts, witnesses) to gather information, build trust, and provide regular updates.
  • Review and summarize medical records and supporting documentation to strengthen case valuation, negotiation, and trial preparation.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents, such as demand letters, complaints, answers, motions, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and briefs.
  • Conduct and respond to discovery, take, and defend depositions, and prepare expert witnesses for testimony.
  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials, ensuring persuasive, and professional advocacy.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel to achieve favorable, cost-effective outcomes.
  • Monitor case costs and litigation budgets to ensure compliance with firm policies and client agreements.
  • Stay current on legislation, case law, and legal practices through ongoing research and professional development.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
  • Juris Doctorate degree with admission to the Bar in the states of practice.
  • 1-4 years of experience in related areas of practice.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of Tort Law and related legal practices, with familiarity with insurance claims, settlement negotiations, and trial procedures.
  • Experienced in managing cases from intake through settlement or trial, including client onboarding, documentation, and strategy development.
  • Skilled in drafting legal documents, including demands, complaints, motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and settlements.
  • Proficient in conducting discoveries, taking and defending depositions, and preparing expert witnesses.
  • Strong ability to evaluate claims, review evidence, and analyze liability and damages to develop effective case strategies.
  • Skilled in negotiation and persuasion to achieve favorable settlements and litigation outcomes.
  • Experienced in representing clients at mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials with professionalism and persuasive advocacy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to clients and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for building trust and maintaining professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and case management software, with the ability to work in a paperless environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with personal injury cases.
