Job Description:Successful Midwestern law firm is seeking an Attorney to handle defending workers' compensation and general liability claims in our Springfield, IL office.
Job functions include handling general liability cases, litigating workers' compensation cases through all phases on behalf of employers and insurers, management of individual caseload, drafting pleadings and conducting legal research as needed, negotiations for settlement, and attending hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations and other proceedings.

- J.D. and license in Illinois required.
- Interest in handling and defending workers' compensation claims preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure.
- In depth knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques and legal terminology.
