Position Description:This position is responsible for providing legal advocacy for Fathers & Families Support Center clients. Oversee investigations, preparing legal documents, and performing research to establish legal precedent, or prepare for legal proceedings
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
- Advise clients on their rights and obligations concerning civil, custody, or child support cases.
- Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for Fathers and Families Support Center clients.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain legal correspondence and documentation.
- Accurately prepare and/or update correspondence, reports, presentations or other information
- including routine letters, memos, and legal documents.
- Conduct regular case reviews with legal staff.
- Ensure compliance with Fathers and Families Support Center Operations Manual and other
- reporting/compliance requirements where needed.
- Conduct periodic community education and workshops to other professionals, agencies, diverse client populations, and community organizations.
- Provide significant legal advice to clients in the areas of domestic relations, juvenile law, and
- municipal court matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Legal experience in juvenile law, domestic relations, or municipal court matters.
- Previous experience in legal services and/or demonstrated commitment to public interest law.
- Ability to provide legal services to disadvantaged or disabled individuals strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent writing skills and be proficient with computers.
- Familiarity or direct experience working on state and federally funded grant programs.
- Dedication to providing consistent and meaningful career development

- Energetic and committed to public service law mission.
- Good communication skills to include public speaking and networking.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Must be a licensed Missouri Attorney in good standing
- At least three years of supervisory experience.
Other:
Must possess a valid Missouri driver's license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
