Description:

Education and Licensing: Juris Doctor degree and admitted to bar and in good standing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Experience and Training: Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in general real estate law and transactional law, and/or litigation. The candidate must be able to work under pressure, work independently, manage his/her own workload with little oversight, possess strong attention to detail and keen analytical skills, and have an awareness of legal and commercial risks. The candidate must be able to understand and interpret statutes, administrative regulations, and case law. Strong oral and written communication skills are also required.

Typical Duties( Illustration Only)
  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing documents for LIHTC, preservation, and other affordable housing transactions.
  • Manage loan transactions from commitment through post-closing, coordinating with developers, lenders, investors, and government agencies.
  • Prepare and review loan modifications, subordinations, and documentation for permanent loan conversions.
  • Handle RAD conversions.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research, interpret laws and regulations, and provide legal guidance.
  • Review and process mortgage satisfactions, subordinations, and related mortgage servicing matters.
  • Coordinate with internal program staff, outside counsel, and funding partners to meet closing deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as backup capacity to ensure business continuity for critical closings and compliance matters in the event the lead attorney is unavailable.
