Description:
Position Summary:The Motor Vehicle Accident Attorney is responsible for representing clients who have been injured in automobile, truck, motorcycle, rideshare, pedestrian, and other motor vehicle-related accidents. The attorney manages cases from initial consultation through settlement negotiations and litigation, advocating for clients to recover compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial client consultations and evaluate potential motor vehicle accident claims.
- Investigate accident circumstances and gather evidence, including police reports, medical records, witness statements, photographs, and expert opinions.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status and legal options.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims and demand packages.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and defense counsel.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as necessary.
- Work closely with medical providers, accident reconstruction experts, and other professionals.
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation in accordance with firm procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, ethical standards, and court deadlines.
- Participate in business development and client relationship activities as requested.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the applicable state.
- Experience handling personal injury and motor vehicle accident cases preferred.
- Strong negotiation, litigation, and trial advocacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
