Position Overview:We are seeking an attorney who wants to be in court and is eager to build a litigation practice in criminal defense, civil forfeiture, and civil rights matters. This position is ideal for someone who wants hands-on courtroom experience, meaningful responsibility, and strong mentorship from experienced litigators.
No prior experience is required. We are prepared to train the right candidate.
What You'll Do:
- Appear in court regularly in criminal defense matters across Arkansas
- Assist with and develop civil forfeiture cases throughout the Southeast and Texas
- Work on civil rights litigation in state and federal court
- Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and discovery
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation
- Meet with clients, witnesses, and experts
- Prepare cases for hearings, trials, and appeals
- Travel throughout Arkansas and, when needed, outside the state for case-related work
Qualifications:
- Active Arkansas law license
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Arkansas
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong writing, research, and communication skills
- Desire to be in court and develop trial skills
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage deadlines
- Commitment to defending clients and handling difficult, high-stakes cases with professionalism
