Position Summary:
As an attorney, you will represent clients in various legal matters, provide strategic legal advice, and manage a caseload. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail-oriented, and passionate about advocacy. Responsibilities:
- Manage a full caseload and represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies aligned with client goals.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and guidance throughout the legal process.
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other team members to ensure high-quality case management.
- Participate in firm meetings, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of Burnham Law's presence in Houston through professionalism, client care, and community involvement.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas (in good standing).
- 2-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably in family law and/or civil litigation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with legal technology platforms and case management systems.
