Job Summary:
Seeking an attorney with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in real estate, corporate, and general business transactions to join a dynamic and diversified family of companies. The successful candidate will have experience in negotiating and documenting real estate transactions, including tax deferred exchanges, real estate secured loans, and other complex transactions, and a working familiarity with real estate development, federal and state taxation, employment law, and general business. Additionally, the successful candidate will be familiar with the selection and formation of business entities. Estate planning experience is not required but will be viewed favorably.

Essential Functions:
  • Independently negotiate and draft a wide variety of business, real estate and employment contracts, and other agreements typically encountered in an in-house legal department environment
  • Manage real estate transactions, from land acquisitions, land entitlement (research, application, review, final map and permits), single family residential, multi-family and commercial property purchases, development, sales, and leases
  • Provide support to the Company's compliance functions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide support in risk management for all business functions
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage a large volume of assignments
  • Regular and consistent attendance to monitor, support, and advise on daily changes in business activities
  • In-depth experience with Purchase & Sale Agreements.

Minimum Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function and be willing to take on new projects as assigned. Moreover, an individual must be able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team with business units, and accounting personnel. Licensed to practice law in the State of California and in good standing required
  • 10 years of experience working as an attorney, although additional experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, MS Teams, Zoom, Excel, and related software programs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time at-will position, and work hours are typically Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with evening and weekend work as required.

Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although out-of-the-area and overnight travel occasionally may be required.

Work Authorization:
Must be eligible to work in the United States

Pay Range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year
