Job Summary:
Cirrus is seeking a highly organized and goal-oriented Attorney/Legal Counsel to join our growing organization. This Attorney position has a direct reporting line to Cirrus' Deputy General Counsel. This professional will work closely with the entire Legal Team to provide legal support and project leadership to the Enterprise teams. The successful candidate will have at least one (1) year of broad-based legal experience in dealing with general corporate law. A background that includes in-house experience is preferred but not required. However, it is a must to be a team player, a person willing to roll up one's sleeves to take on new challenges, and a person who enjoys practicing law. Strong communication and presentation skills are required.

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Supports the review, investigation, and conclusion of employee reports in collaboration with Human Resources and other Cirrus stakeholders.
  • Provides guidance and support to Human Resource business partners on employee relations, compliance matters, contracting with consultants, and policy creation.
  • Conducts initial legal review of information technology and other enterprise agreements.
  • Manages the delivery of legal training sessions to Cirrus stakeholders on a wide variety of topics, including for example HR policies, confidentiality and document retention.
  • Represents the company in administrative hearings.
  • Updates, expands and manages the Legal Department's Sharepoint site.
  • Assess and update company registrations and DBA designations in relevant states.
  • Monitors and maintains current knowledge of aviation industry trends in legal and compliance matters and pursues ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge on best practices and risk management.
  • Identifies potential improvements to existing policies.
  • Prepares reports on the status of enterprise contracts for management.
  • Represents Cirrus in a highly professional manner internally and externally.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
  • Travel may be required up to 10%.
  • Conducts special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. with excellent academic credentials.
  • Current attorney licensed and in good standing in at least one State with the ability to become licensed to practice law in Minnesota or in house counsel waiver through Minnesota Rule 10.
  • 1 year of prior legal experience, either as an attorney or through internships or similar opportunities.
  • Proven negotiation, drafting and analytical skills for various types of commercial contracts. Must be a skilled writer and drafter with a steadfast attention-to-detail.
  • Strong oral and written communications, presentation, and facilitation skills. Must interact confidently, persuasively and diplomatically with all levels of Cirrus organization. Must also be a good listener.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment, and be comfortable with minimal supervision.

Other Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of contract law, contracting business terms, and general corporate law
  • Ability to accurately read, interpret, develop and negotiate terms and conditions of contracts
  • Strong understanding of federal procurement regulations
  • Ability to develop, implement, and maintain thorough documentation processes and results
  • Ability to translate complex issues into easily understood summaries or solutions
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Teams
