We are seeking a highly motivated Attorney to join our esteemed legal team at James S. Bell, P.C., a nationally recognized trial-ready law firm based in Dallas, Texas with additional offices and the ability to serve clients across the United States. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with seasoned litigators in high-stakes civil and criminal defense matters and contribute to positive outcomes for our diverse client base. You will support clients in complex legal disputes, provide strategic counsel, and help drive successful results in and out of the courtroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate critical legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, memoranda, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in a wide range of litigation matters, including but not limited to:
  • Civil litigation and business disputes
  • Family law matters such as divorce, custody, and support issues
  • Healthcare law and federal healthcare fraud defense (e.g., False Claims Act, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback investigations)
  • White-collar and federal criminal defense
  • Real estate, corporate, and securities disputes
  • Complex trial matters in state and federal courts
  • Represent clients professionally in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and courtroom proceedings with confidence and poise.
  • Manage and maintain case files using legal administrative systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and effective workflow.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and colleagues to develop legal strategies and ensure regulatory compliance across practice areas.
  • Stay abreast of developments in relevant laws and regulations through ongoing research and professional development.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the relevant jurisdictions.
  • Proven litigation experience and ability to handle trial work, including bench trials and jury trials.
  • Strong research skills with proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis or Westlaw).
  • Exceptional legal drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills across civil and criminal contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex case files and legal documents efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • High ethical standards, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to legal problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
