Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for all legal aspects of claim handling related to Workers Compensation, Third party Liens, and Insurance Collections on behalf of our hospital clients. Job responsibilities: provide legal support for Insurance Recoveries, Third Party Liability, and Workers' Compensation, coordinate and develop action plans for group and individual claims in coordination with department leadership, participate in claim negotiations and settlements at all levels, draft and review legal documents to support legal citations in claim resolution, provide ongoing education/training on legal aspects and changes in laws that impact claim recovery outcomes, assist non attorneys with case management, perform legal research, and perform miscellaneous related duties, as required.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Admission to California State bar
- Experience with healthcare claim adjudication regulations and industry practices for health benefit and accident claims, required
- Experience from healthcare provider and/or health plan or carrier side welcome
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical stills
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and with others
- Ability to manage large projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research databases
- Type at least 40 wpm
Position Type: Full-time; Exempt
Salary: $43.25 - $92.00 per hour (Depends on relevant experience)
Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule: Mon-Thurs 7:30 am-5:00 pm & Fri 7:30 am-12:30 pm.
Other: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks
