Our law firm is seeking a skilled and experienced Attorney specializing in Guardianship and Behavioral Health Law (Marchman Act). The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in courtroom procedures and a deep understanding of guardianship and behavioral health legal matters. The candidate will be a self-starter and will be comfortable in a courtroom and handling assigned legal cases.Responsibilities:
Legal Representation:
- Provide expert legal representation to clients in matters related to guardianship and the Marchman Act.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each case.
- Prepare and file necessary legal documents, petitions, and motions.
Courtroom Advocacy:
- Attend court hearings and proceedings on behalf of clients.
- Prepare clients for court hearings
- Present compelling arguments and evidence to support client cases.
- Engage in negotiations and settlements when appropriate.
Client Consultation:
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and concerns.
- Provide clear and concise legal advice to clients.
- Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other attorneys, legal professionals, and staff within the firm.
- Work closely with external stakeholders, including social workers, medical professionals, and court officials.
Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure all legal activities and processes comply with relevant laws and ethical standards.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and case law related to guardianship and behavioral health.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports for clients and the firm as needed.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about developments in guardianship and behavioral health law.
- Attend continuing legal education (CLE) programs to enhance expertise.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar in Florida.
- 3-5 years of experience in guardianship and behavioral health law.
- Proven courtroom experience is a must.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
