Overview:We are seeking a motivated Attorney to join our legal team practicing consumer protection law at a well-established firm. As an Attorney, you will be responsible for providing representation to clients, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and responding to and propounding discovery. Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research using resources such as Westlaw
- Draft and review court pleadings
- Negotiate on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes
- Represent clients in hearings and depositions
- Collaborate and brainstorm with colleagues to develop case strategies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation
- Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in New Mexico state and federal courts, or to be admitted by Fall, 2024
- Familiarity with legal research tools such Westlaw
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
