State Fund's Corporate Legal Department plays a pivotal role in advancing State Fund's mission, providing expert legal advice, representation, and training across diverse areas such as insurance, business, government, and regulatory laws. Our Corporate Legal Department is also at the forefront of representing State Fund in complex administrative and civil disputes.

We are currently in search of an experienced transactional attorney with a robust background in corporate, insurance, and California state governmental laws. Working under the guidance of an Assistant Chief Counsel, you will:
  • Navigate complex and sensitive corporate advice and transactions in areas such as state government, procurement, cloud software licensing, artificial intelligence, privacy, intellectual property, banking and investments, and insurance on behalf of State Fund.
  • Handle advisory matters, contract drafting, review and negotiation, regulatory affairs integral to State Fund's business, contribute to task forces and projects, and conduct legal research.
  • Provide counsel to executives, managers, and other internal business partners.
  • Assume the lead role on matters and mentor other attorneys and legal staff, contributing to a collaborative legal environment.

Position can be filled in: Sacramento, San Francisco, Alameda, Los Angeles, or Orange county.
