The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) Litigation Bureau is seeking an experienced personnel attorney to join our team. As a litigation attorney with the FTB focused on employment law, the incumbent will have the opportunity to work along side the departments Administrative Services Division to ensure the department's personnel actions are fair and appropriate.
The incumbent will provide advice and guidance on various employment law issues such as employee discipline, the Family Medical Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity complaints, worksite security, legal compliance with state employment policies as well as other various state and federal laws; represent the department in front of administrative tribunals such as the State Personnel Board and the California Department of Human Resources as well as assist the Attorney General's office on civil litigation matters; develop procedures and policies to ensure department remains compliant with all its legal requirements, including the requirements related to Conflict of Interest, state contracting rules, privacy and disclosure, as well as other matters falling within the litigation bureau's subject matters.
Active membership in the State Bar of California is required.

Working Conditions:
- This position is eligible for limited remote working within California based on departmental guidelines and operational need. FTB has a minimum in-office requirement of two days per week for all positions including those that are eligible for telework. This is subject to change.
