Job Description and Duties:This position will be a member of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife's (CDFW) highly collaborative and collegial legal office comprised of natural resources, employment, contract, administrative, and water law legal professionals. This Attorney III will be a member of the legal office's team of water attorneys, and will provide critical support to CDFW's regulatory regulatory and policy staff engaged on the Salton Sea program, lower Colorado River, and other complex southern California water and species issues. This attorney's work will include a broad range of environmental and natural resources issues, relating to the Fish and Game Code, the California Environmental Quality Act, property transactions and agreements, habitat restoration planning and implementation, interagency coordination, and other interrelated water and aquatic species issues. Working Conditions:
- Maintain normal and consistent work hours, averaging 40 hours per week. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is expected, when necessary, to complete assignments in a timely manner. Position may require the Incumbent to sit for long periods of time. Light lifting or reaching may be required, though reasonable accommodation may be provided upon request.
- This position will be located in Sacramento. Some overnight travel (< 10%) may be required and involve one or more overnight stays.
